JLAS BEST PAPER AWARD
The Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport (JLAS) Best Paper Award is a competitive award granted to the best paper published in the journal in the preceding year of the SRLA conference. The best paper, which focuses on a significant and relevant legal issue related to sport or physical activity, is selected by a panel of journal editorial review board members. The winner will receive recognition at the SRLA Awards Banquet.
Criteria for Selection:
- Relevance, novelty, and importance of the topic to the field of legal aspects of sport and physical activity;
- Quality and thoroughness of research;
- Published in JLAS in the previous year, i.e., a 2024 paper will be honored at the 2025 Conference.

The Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport (JLAS) is the flagship publication for the Sport and Recreation Law Association. JLAS is strongly committed to the publication of theoretical and applied research on law and policy issues from any tradition of scholarship. Published twice per year in February and August, JLAS is an international, peer-reviewed journal that has an interdisciplinary appeal to researchers and practitioners in the field.
To be considered for this Award, authors are encouraged to submit papers to the journal. All papers are subject to evaluation through a double-blind peer review process prior to publication.
