The Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport (JLAS) has been the flagship publication for the Sport and Recreation Law Association since 1991. JLAS is strongly committed to the publication of theoretical and applied research on law and policy issues from any tradition of scholarship. Published twice per year in February and August, JLAS is an international, peer-reviewed journal that has an interdisciplinary appeal to researchers and practitioners in the field. Members of the article review board hold a juris doctorate (J.D.), doctorate of philosophy (Ph.D.), or both, and possess considerable experience in academia as well as the sport and recreation industry. Additionally, article review board members are notable scholars who have written extensively about areas of legal aspects relating to sport, recreation, and related fields. JLAS encourages the submission of manuscripts about the legal and policy issues relevant to professional, intercollegiate, interscholastic, recreational, and Olympic sport. Additionally, topics may include the legal, policy, and associated risk management issues impacting sport clubs, fitness, health and wellness, and physical activity.
